Aaaaaand the saga goes on. I wish when people made empty threats, they’d at least try to spell things right. Allegedly I’m very “crewd.”
Yes, I busted out my roflcopter and lolled all the way to the end of time.
Anyway, Psycho Hose Beast isn’t worth my time or my blog space, so we’re going to move on from here.
It’s Monday! Mondays are always good days because it’s the start of a fresh week and everything begins again. I’m sure most of you are a little peaked after yesterday’s Super Bowl bashes. Ours was mild compared to previous years. Most people didn’t care enough about the Bowl this year to even attend parties, so the head count was down considerably. Yet we still made enough food for both the Cardinals and the Steelers to get their grub on, and frat houses the world ’round would have been jealous of the free-flowing beer and wine.
The highlight of the afternoon was getting to use our 3-D glasses. Except that 3-D really isn’t that impressive anymore. The commercials were OK, the movie trailer completely unimpressive. I remarked to my mom that it was funny how with all the amazing technology we have nowadays, that 3-D, which was huge back in the day, is suddenly making a resurgence in a crazy way. As though it’s this wild new concept that nobody’s ever seen before. But hey, to each his own, right? If it makes the kids happy, then I’m happy.
For those of you keeping track at home…the Steelers won the game in what was a fairly impressive last-minute push for the lead. As die-hard Niners and Seahawks fans, our entire household (all ten of us) erupted into wild screams and cheers when that final TD pass of the game was caught and deemed legal. We hate the Cardinals. It’s just kind of bred into us.
Overall an actually interesting game that kept us fairly entertained. I was a little chagrined by the poor sportsmanship demonstrated by several members of the Steelers, though. Really? Smacking a guy around after you’ve already downed him? Really? Unbelievably unnecessary. The guy should have been ejected from the game, but then again I’m a soccer player and it’s a lot easier to make the distinction between normal gameplay and red card offenses on the soccer field. In football, it’s just another play.
Commercials this year? How MEH could we get? Very few made us laugh. I was a particular fan of the CareerBuilder.com commercial, mostly because Vork from The Guild was featured in it (he was the guy clipping his toenails in his undies), and I think he’s hysterical…plus I love The Guild. So. It all evens out.
Hopefully everyone partied marginally enough that they’re feeling good this morning. If not, well. That’s what you get for going crazy the day before a work week. Tsk. I’ll try not to blog too loudly.
