HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNY!!!

Hope your day is as swell as they come! And dammit, I hope your birthday present arrives, otherwise I’m going to have quite a few bones to pick with the US Postal Service…AGAIN.
Today is Jenny’s birthday. Most of you don’t know Jenny, some of you do. Either way, I hope everyone takes a moment today to party just a tad in Jenny’s honor. Because dammit, today is a day for celebrating!
Jenny and I met six years ago when I joined a Twin Peaks RPG online. The “leader†of the group was quite the AWOL airhead, and Jenny was the first person to approach me and welcome me to the group. Easy-going, funny, interesting…she was the kind of person that I found hard to not like. We hit it off instantly, became fast friends, and spent the next twelve months practically inseparable online. We planned to meet up and hang out at the ’99 TP Fest, and for both of us, it was a very nerve-wracking and yet totally exciting prospect. We both had our fair share of naysayers prior to the fest. People who couldn’t believe that we were going to travel all the way to Washington to meet up and hang out for a week without ever having met in person before.
Yeah, I know. Sounds nutty now that I look back. But you have to understand, I knew the moment that I first chatted with Jenny that she was someone who was real…she wasn’t one of those internet entities that hovers on the periphery, wavering in and out of reality. She was all that and a bag of fucking chips, people. A large bag of chips. Chee-tos even.
We met in person for the first time on Tuesday, August 10th, 1999. I was sitting in the almost-dark at campsite 66 at Lake Easton campground. Jenny came rolling up in her Bronco. The deepening of our friendship was instantaneous and unfathomable. We spent the entire week giggling and laughing like old friends. And even after we went back to our respective homes, the solid friendship remained. We were like sisters. Through thick and thin, good and bad, silly and sad, we’ve remained good, solid, weird, crazy, magnificent, amazing friends. I couldn’t ask for a better relationship in my life. Neither of us can really explain to anyone what it is. It’s like we found someone else on this entire planet who was like this mirror of ourselves. A mirror and a complement. A yin for our yang.
Jenny is so many adjectives all rolled into one, it would take too many blog entries to get through them all. So let me just say this…my life is richer, fuller, weirder, funnier with Jenny in it. Today is her birthday, and I’m glad that she was born.
So Jenny, Sis, The Great Oily Tenino, Tao of Coffee, DwT…Happy Happy Birthday! Here’s to many more great ones, as you have absolutely positively earned them tenfold.
